Happy April!

It is our Poetry month. . As we get set for our Spring Break we can see where your children are in their writing units.

First Grade- We will listen to poems and start writing our own.

Second Grade- We will be listening to fictional stories of interest to them. We will then be writing fictional stories with attention paid to character, setting, problem and solution.

Third Grade- We will be writing opinion pieces after listening to and discussing opinions written by various authors.

Fourth Grade- We will be working non- fiction information pieces.

Fifth Grade- We will be writing research reports. Being able to research and write reports is an important skill that will be asked of students as they progress through school and Life.

So keep on reading. Being good readers are critical to everything we do in this world.
